Games in Chat lets you play text adventures on gamesinchat.com and inside AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name or email.
What we store
- Game saves. The state of each game (where you are, what you carry, the clues you found) under its save code, for 90 days after your last move.
- Web chat turns. On gamesinchat.com, the last few messages of a game, so the game master remembers the story. Kept with the save for 90 days.
- Adventures you create. The adventure and your idea, for a year, with a hash of your private edit key.
- Counts. How many games start and finish, by adventure and by where they were played; the daily leaderboard (a save code and a score, no names); and a salted hash of your IP address to apply daily limits. We never store your IP address itself.
What we don't see
When you play inside Claude or ChatGPT, we only receive the game actions the assistant sends to our tools (for example "go north"). We never see the rest of your conversation, your account or your files.
AI processing
On gamesinchat.com, your messages in a game and the adventure text are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to narrate the game and to draft adventures you create. Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms and does not train on them.
Your choices
Saves expire on their own. To have a save or an adventure deleted sooner, email hello@gamesinchat.com with its code.
Games in Chat is not directed at children under 13.
