Pemberton's Bakery, early morning. Its secret sourdough starter, called Old Gertrude, lived in a crock in the back pantry and is gone, leaving only a clean crock with a lid set neatly beside it. The bake-off begins at noon. You are a visitor buying a loaf, and owner Rosa Pemberton has asked you to help. Three people were in the building before opening: the apprentice Danny Wick, the delivery driver Bertram Amari, and Rosa's rival from across the street, Celeste Fontaine, who came by 'to borrow some salt'.
Your goal: Find out who took the starter and accuse them with evidence (at least two key clues). Two wrong accusations and the thief slips away with Old Gertrude.
