An AI Dungeon alternative with rules, goals and endings

AI story games like AI Dungeon let a language model make up the world as you play. That is great for open-ended storytelling, and frustrating when you want a game: the rules bend, the map shifts and nothing is ever really at stake. Games in Chat is built the other way round.

When a story sandbox is the better choice

If you want to wander anywhere, invent your own world on the fly or co-write an endless story, an open-ended AI storyteller is the right tool, and Games in Chat isn't trying to be one. Our adventures are finite: a map, a cast, a goal, and an ending you earn. If you like that shape but want your own story, you can write an adventure and the engine will run it.

Is it free?

The Daily Mystery and three adventures are free, on the web and inside Claude and ChatGPT, with no account. Plus ($5 a month) adds the rest and every past daily case.

Can I play it inside ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes: add Games in Chat once and your chat's own AI becomes the narrator, while our engine keeps the rules. See how to play an RPG with ChatGPT or Claude.
